If there's such a thing as a perfect transfer exit then Calvin Ramsay's switch to Liverpool could well be it.
The boyhood Aberdeen hero is the hometown kid done good before landing a transfer loot for the club he loves.
You couldn't script it better.
The well wishes rolled in from Dons hierarchy and punters as Ramsay's transfer acts as a ringing endorsement of the academy at Cormack Park.
Liverpool have paid £4.5m for an 18-year-old dripping in potential and could fork out as much as £8m for the right-back if things go to plan.
The injection of cash is welcome and will allow Jim Goodwin's side to remain resolute in the face of growing interest of fellow Aberdeen academy standout Connor Barron, who is being eyed by Celtic.
And there's significant interest from Millwall in Lewis Ferguson but it could cost the Championship side £3m to strike a deal.
But now the hard part starts, identifying the right players to improve a squad shot of confidence after a rotten season that resulted in a 10th–placed finish last season.
Goodwin has been bullish about Aberdeen's recruitment groundwork and it's now time to put it into practice.
Record Sport runs the rule on the transfer targets who could follow Ylber Ramadani to the North-East club.
Conor Ronan (Wolves)
The top target. Scottish football has offered under-the-radar players opportunities for years and Ronan aced his audition at St Mirren last season.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has an eye for goal and his eight goals for the Buddies was a bright spark in a season that fizzled out.
He thrived under Goodwin before he headed to the Granite City and a permanent deal appears to make sense for all parties.
Around 10 per cent of the Ramsay initial fee would allow Aberdeen to pull the trigger on an offer for Ronan, whose fee has been set by Wolves at circa £400-500k. Hearts are also interested but the Ramsay cash gives the Dons a shot again.
Tobias Lauritsen (Odds BK)
The 24-year-old fulfilled the golden rule for every transfer target on Sunday by keeping their name in the headlines.
His consolation goal in the 2-1 defeat to Molde was a reminder of his eye for goal and he made it four for the season.
The 6ft 2in forward is an imposing presence and his potential arrival would add intrigue on what's next for Christian Ramirez.
Lauritsen appears the perfect fit to lead the line in Scottish football and his knack for bringing others into the game.
Bojan Miovski (MTK Budapest)
A pair of strikers, you say?
Aberdeen have already signed Ramadani from MTK and a double dip has been mooted for the free-scoring forward.
If Lauritsen is the hold-up man then Miovski is all about the goals with nine in 18 appearances for club and country this season.
The North Macedonia international is headed to the World Cup and looks like a shrewd investment.
But it may well be a case of one or the other in terms of potential striker arrivals with Miovski and Lauritsen.
Josh Dacres-Cogley (Tranmere Rovers)
Ramsay's departure means it's time to find a new right-back.
And Josh Dacres-Cogley, valued between £400-500k, is on Aberdeen's radar.
The 26-year-old is a key man is a key performer for Micky Mellon's men and appears an ideal fit to fill the sizeable gap left by Liverpool's new star.
Dacres-Cogley has one year remaining on his current deal at Prenton Park.
Jacob Davenport (Blackburn Rovers)
Davenport is another right-back who has been namechecked as an option and he has a year left on his deal at Ewood Park.
But it appears Dacres-Cogley is the top target for the Dons.
However, Davenport is a versatile operator with experience in midfield and could line up alongside Ramadani.
