New host of The British Soap Awards, Jane McDonald, has gone down a storm with viewers as they watched the ceremony on Tuesday, June 6. The 60-year-old singer and broadcaster was announced to be taking over from Phillip Schofield, who has stepped down from ITV amid an ongoing scandal.

One person said: “Unfortunate mic placements!!” followed by a series of laughing face emojis. A second person echoed: “Well THEY'RE somewhat unfortunately-placed microphones, aren't they?”
A third wrote: “Who decided on the microphone placement at the #britishsoapawards2023?!” And a fourth person added: “Was it intentional to place the two microphones at nipple level?”
Elsewhere, viewers were loving Jane as host with one person writing: “Jane McDonald. Great choice of host.” A second agreed and commented: “We’re only a few mins in and I already love Jane McDonald presenting.”
