A two-bedroom flat in St Pauls is currently on the market for £1,920 per month. The Victorian property situated on Sussex Place comprises two single bedrooms, working out £960 per room per month.
It is one of three furnished flats located by the former Duke of Sussex pub, but it is not the most expensive. Sandstone Property Management Company is advertising another two bedroom flat which appears to be part of the same Victorian terrace conversion.
At £1,940 per month, the second two-bedroom flat is more expensive but with two double bedrooms it would be more economical than the first for two sharing couples. While neither property benefits from any garden space or a separate living and dining area, the latter has a “roomy hallway” while the two single rooms benefit from “an expansive hallway”.

Under the name of the same agency there is a third property, this time a three-bedroom flat. While this flat benefits from an outdoor space, it would be generous to call it a garden. But with three double bedrooms and a total rent of £2,355, it works out to be less than £800 per room, relatively cheaper than the other two.
However while all rents have been going up all over Bristol for some time now, in 2022 Bristol saw an increase of 12 per cent, more double the average UK increase. But despite this trend, these flats in St Pauls are particularly extortionate, even in the current market, these two beds are above the Bristol average rent in 2020 for a house with four or more bedrooms.
Sort after locations such as Finzels Reach, a riverside development in the city centre are advertising two bedroom properties at lower prices than these St Pauls flats. One such flat which recently reduced in price to £1,750 is situated in a complex with an onsite gym, games room and attractive communal roof terrace.
While Sandstone is just one of the property management companies assisting landlords in Marketing properties for rental prices that seem to be double what they were several years ago, there are many others who are charging even more for rental properties by giving tenants the option of short term rents.
One such example is The Agency UK whose current flats on Zoopla are on the market for £2000 per room. One example is a two bedroom flat again without any garden space, facing onto Fishponds Road in Eastville, not far from where it meets Stapleton Road.
The serviced property, just a stone's throw away from Eastville Park is available for short or long term lets. The photos show a fully furnished modern interior and the flat has two small bathrooms but no actual bath.
There are no riverside views for a property that faces onto a busy road and there are no pictures showing the exterior of the building or hard sell of the immediate locality in the description. The same agency has another two bedroom flat, in the city centre which can also be rented on a short term basis but for £4,500.
Alongside Hamptons who are marketing a two bedroom flat in Clifton for £3,495, a penthouse in Sea Mills for a similar price but with a very impressive interior and a jacuzzi, these are the most expensive two bedroom flats currently on the market in Bristol.
