The Black 'invisible' moon that's perfect for stargazing - everything you need to know

There are many astronomical events taking place this year - and they're all worth keeping an eye out for.

Just recently, we had the Eta Aquarid meteor shower which peaked this weekend on May 6. The annual Eta Aquarids typically falls between April 19 and May 28, and the shower can include up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak.

More events are on the way and soon. We will see the Black moon, but when will this happen and what is it? Here is what you need to know.

Black Moon: What is it and how can we see it?

According to Time and Date, the Black Moon is a special kind of Moon phase.

However if you want to spot a Black Moon, you're out of luck as they are invisible.

However in good news for stargazers, this means that there will soon be excellent conditions for stargazing as the Moon’s light won’t drown out the stars. This is because the moon will not be reflecting any of the Sun’s light when the Moon is lined up between the Earth and Sun.

This is however, providing that we don't have lots of cloud coverage in Glasgow. This is set to happen on May 19.

So if you're an avid photographer, it will be a great opportunity for some stunning pictures.
