The brand new Good Beer Guide has announced Wales' best pub for 2023 as the top-selling guide celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) Guide, which surveys 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK, is the definitive beer drinker’s guide to the very best pints in the most picturesque and friendly pubs. Compiled by thousands of independent volunteers, it helps identify significant trends and themes across the pub sector.
Wales' top pub, as crowned by the Guide, is Mold Alehouse, found in the centre of the town and is complimented for its 'good beer, fellowship and conversation'.
The Guide says: "Since opening in 2016, this micropub has won many CAMRA awards and gained a strong following based on sound principles of good beer, fellowship and conversation. It is centrally situated in a Grade II-listed building opposite the town hall and near Daniel Owen Square, and home to Mold Library & Museum. The four cask ales include a dark beer, and there are also five Key Keg lines and four ciders.
