The best street style from Paris Fashion Week SS23

Following a quick trip back to London for Burberry’s postponed SS23 show, the fashion set flocked to Paris for their final stint of the SS23 season. Home to super brands Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior, Paris is notoriously high octane when it comes to style.

This Paris Fashion Week has been a star-studded celebration of designers new and old with Victoria Beckham’s Paris debut, The Row’s second show, and Coperni’s magical fashion moment: Bella Hadid’s spray-on dress.

The Dior show gave us mythical renaissance-meets-Y2K, while guests took inspiration from the time of year with nostalgic plays on school uniform, including ties and knee-high socks. Take a lesson from Vogue’s Gabriella Karefa-Johnson who styled fashion’s new favourite pair: the sock and loafer.

Trends from New York, London and Milan Fashion Weeks have travelled to Paris with gothic attire and double denim being key contenders for most-worn styles. Many a pair of knee-high boots were spotted treading the pavement - Paris Texas’ being the favourite.

Gen-Z style sensation Mia Regan attended the Balmain festival sporting the season’s hottest new length, the midi. Wearing a dreamy wardrobe of the vintage pieces she is known for, Mia’s support for the unveiling of a Balmain x Evian couture dress made from recycled bottles felt fitting.

From Dries Van Noten to Dior, satin florals to brown leather, cargo trousers have been reimagined by designers and brought into the wardrobes of those in the know. At Saint Laurent, Hailey Bieber took celebrity street style’s top spot in an extreme shouldered bubble-gum pink number while the house stayed true to its DNA with a collection focused on simple silhouettes and elevated tailoring.

Guests for the Valentino show ensured the brand’s famous pink shade was not falling under the radar. Resembling a Barbie army, the guests showed the only way to wear the colour was from head-to-toe.

Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Chanel brought the week to a close but this season will be remembered for its theatricality, supermodel appearances and fabulous front rows.
