The Best Golf Games To Play In 2025, Ranked

Although many might claim the sport takes a bit of getting used to, Golf titles are known to be the complete opposite and are some of the easiest to pick up and play within the sporting genre.

But which among the many titles in the market can be considered the best to play right now, either alone or with a group of friends? No matter if you are looking for a casual party game or a true-to-form simulation of the Masters, here are the best golf games to play in 2025, ranked.

6. Mario Golf: Super Rush

  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
  • Release Date: June 25, 2025
  • Price: $59.99

Even if a far cry from the one that started it all, Mario Golf: Super Rush keeps Nintendo’s party game streak alive by adding even more to the franchise’s known mix of solid fundamentals and easy-to-master gameplay.

Allowing you to take on up to 18-hole matches, the entry also features two out-of-the-box additions in Speed and Battle Golf, with the first tasking you with sinking your shots and then racing toward the next hole before your opponents can catch up. Battle Golf, on the other hand, sends you into an obstacle-filled course where each hole is closed once finished. The game’s downsides? It’s lack of single-player content, considering its price range.

5. Golf With Your Friends

  • Platforms: PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC
  • Release Date: January 29, 2016
  • Price: $9.99

An old but still highly regarded choice, Golf With Your Friends can be seen as the ideal pick when looking to simply have fun while keeping the spirit of the sport alive. Here, you and up to 12 friends can take on a large array of courses and use power-ups to one-up each other while following either standard golfing rules or mixing things up with novel additions, such as replacing the hole with a basketball hoop. The way the game allows you to both craft/customize courses also gives even those unwilling to purchase its extensive amount of DLCs more than enough to have a good time.

4. Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots

  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 (retrocompatible)
  • Release Date: September 5, 2025
  • Price: $39.99

Marking the franchise’s return to home consoles and PC, Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots shows once again why the series is considered the king of casual golf games by providing a still-unmatched arcadey feel that stays true to its roots. In other words, you will find an easy-to-pick-up and endearing to master title here, featuring a beefy amount of single-player content and a few co-op/multiplayer-focused modes sure to keep you and your friends entertained.

Just a warning for newcomers, Hot Shots is a grind fest, where unlocking the majority of its characters and courses will require a lot of investment. Depending on your platform, you might also experience performance issues.

3. Golf+

  • Platforms: Meta Quest
  • Release Date: May 28, 2020
  • Price: $39.99

Released in 2020, Golf+ is still widely regarded as one of the best VR titles for those looking to either stay sharp when the weather is not in their favor or experience the sport for what it is in regions where doing so requires a lot of investment/travel time. True to that, it brings everything a golfer might want to the table via its beautiful presentation and simulation focus, which takes realism as far as it can. We highly recommend investing in a Golf Club Attachment (or golf grip) when looking to dive in, though.

2. Golf It!

  • Platforms: PC (via Steam)
  • Release Date: August 18, 2023
  • Price: $8.99

Bringing forth a similar feature-rich approach to mini-golf but adding a welcome layer of depth through its motion-based controls and trickier timing, it would not be an overstatement to call Golf It! an advanced version of Golf With Your Friends, as well as the perfect middle ground between the latter and more demanding options. Also, did we mention that the game supports VR?

1. PGA Tour 2K25

  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam)
  • Release Date: February 25, 2025
  • Price: $69.99

Did you really think we would not include a proper non-VR sim here? Well, though luck, as no best of list could be complete without the new PGA Tour 2K25, which pairs the franchise’s phenomenal presentation and custom player focus with a few innovations to its technical gameplay and game feel.

As you can expect from a fully licensed product, you will also find both known golfers and more than 30 courses here, which, of course, include staples going from the prestigious Quail Hollow Club to the classic Old Course at St Andrews. Just be careful, as, like NBA 2K, PGA Tour bleeds microtransactions that might make the game just as unapproachable as many unfamiliar with the sport believe it to be at first glance.
