Glasgow is surely recognised as the curry capital of Scotland with its incredible range of restaurants and, of course, the fact we may even have invented the Tikka Masala.
And it seems the judges at the UK's own 'Curry Oscars' agree after no less than five of our top eateries were named as finalists in Scotland's best restaurant category.
Back for 2022, the 18th annual ceremony for the British Curry Awards is set to be held at the end of this month in London, with an event held in honour of the UK’s leading spokesperson for the curry industry, the late Enam Ali MBE.
Recognised globally as the original and most coveted award ceremony in the UK curry industry, also referred to as the ‘Curry Oscars’. The awards aim to recognise those restaurants who are working tirelessly to keep the industry going with fears spiralling costs could see 7 out of 10 eateries forced to shut for good if the government don't step in to help.

Now, the top five restaurants in Glasgow battling out to win the title of best restaurant in Scotland have been named.
New city centre restaurant Mowgli Street Food on St Vincent Street, the iconic Swadish on Ingram Street, the institution that is Charcoals Indian Restaurant on Renfield Street, the famous Obsession of India on the High Street and the Madras Cafe on Howard Street will all represent Glasgow at the awards.
