I hate how expensive trucks have become in recent years. Seriously, even my beloved Honda Ridgeline seems like its become unobtainable for a vast majority of new truck buyers because of the inflation that the whole segment has seen. And that's because, well, I need a damn truck.
I tow. I haul. I use my truck to go off-road, to toss motorcycles into the back of, to hunt and fish, and to take my powersports vehicles out to go do powersport vehicle things. But affording something like a new truck, or even a used one—if I'm being honest—has become only a rich person's game. My best bet? Finding a used Super Duty at a government auction that used to be used by the Forest Service (RIP) with 180,000 miles on the clock. And those are hard-earned 180,000 miles, you know? Those are fire trails and rocky stuff, and they've treated those trucks like old garage rags.
