When it comes to pints of Guinness, only the best will do, and one popular blogger has dedicated her time to seeking out the best bars and pubs around Scotland (and beyond) for a pint of the famous Irish stout.
Sarah Love, from Springburn, has grown a huge following on her @girl_drinks_guinness Instagram account with nearly 25,000 followers since she launched it in 2020, with Guinness fans regularly checking out her reviews of the best places to go – and the ones to avoid.
Speaking about how the blog came about, Sarah said: "My idea for the page came about after years of drinking poor pints in Glasgow and then going to visit family in Ireland, and wondering why they were so different!

"I wanted to see if I could find anywhere here that could serve the pints as well as they do in Ireland, checking things like how they were poured, the taste and of course, the glassware."
The Guinness expert has now racked up hundreds of reviews across the UK and Ireland, rating each pint based on appearance, how it is poured and whether it has any defects in flavour such as being too thin and watery or too bitter or metallic tasting.
Scoring each pint out of 10, she then regularly adds new entries with pictures and scores to her Instagram account.
Never afraid to give out harsh (but fair) criticism where it's needed, Sarah added that she only ever reviews the pint.
"I tend not to review the actual pubs themselves and focus solely on the pints," she explained. "I don’t want any negativity aimed at the pub. I always try and put a positive about the pub in the review if I have given a low score."
Sarah's best places to get a pint of Guinness in Glasgow:
1: The Brazen Head
Sarah said: "Genuinely tasted as good as pints I’ve had in Ireland - nothing else needs to be said about it to be honest. Best in Glasgow and the UK in my opinion (from what I’ve had so far anyway)."
2: The Laurieston
Sarah said: "This pub has the sacred middle tap, which is cellar temperature Guinness, this doesn’t exist outside of Ireland and it’s why I love it so much. I hate extra cold Guinness!"
3: The Park Lane
Sarah said: "This was the first pub I ever found in Glasgow that did a decent pint and has done for years. I can also 100% guarantee you won’t have a bad night in this place!"
4: Kitty O’Sheas
Sarah said: "Always creamy and always consistently good - this goes for the city centre, the west end and the Edinburgh bar, all very good."
5: The Aragon
Sarah said: "Always very well poured and the pints are a bit warmer than some places which makes them creamier. A lovely little local pub!"
