Picture the scene: it’s a balmy summer’s evening, you’re sipping on a cocktail and the sun is setting over the sea. This is exactly the kind of holiday experience you’d expect in Spain or Greece, but this summer you can enjoy just that much closer to home.
A beachside bar located within a double decker bus has returned to Crosby promenade once more, where you can relax with a drink and look out over the water. The Bus Yard initially began as a pop-up and now, due to its popularity it's back, the Liverpool Echo reports.
At the heart of the space between Crosby Lakeside and the beach is a bright blue double decker bus, which serves everything from coffee to cocktails, while there’s also street food and live music on offer. Last year, the business secured a three-year agreement with Sefton Council to open for six months between April and September and returned last week for its 2023 stint.

Andy Laird, who runs The Bus Yard with business partners Anthony Smith and Darren Ryder, said the setup was "dead easy" this year. He added that the unique venue has become a "destination" for individuals, families and dog walkers alike who want to whet their whistle or grab a bite to eat at the seaside.
Andy said: "It's reached another level, which is great. It's good to see we've created something from nothing...now there's a full venue, a full house."
Visitors to the Bus Yard can expect a few changes this year, including a booth container with miniature chalets and a cabana for extra shelter. Andy said: "The vibe up there is absolutely amazing. People like it; it's like being abroad at home."
There will be lots of live entertainment on offer and some extras on the menu this summer, including a Sunday Yorkshire wrap and a new "quirky" cocktail menu, which Andy said "appeals to the outdoor venue vibe".
The Bus Yard brand is set to be busy this summer. As well as Crosby beach, its Liverpool ONE venue will reopen and the business will operate stalls at events and festivals, including Haydock races and Reminisce Festival.
Andy said: "It works, the three of us doing what we're doing. We're pushing boundaries constantly, we're driven and on the same page."
