Gogglebox is bidding farewell to the Baggs family who have announced they are quitting the Channel 4 show.
The popular family-of-four from Essex - which includes dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George - have been on our screens for three series, having joined during season 16 back in 2020.
They cited their reason for leaving as “being so busy with other work commitments” but teased they are working on exciting new projects which suggests they could be back on TV in another format.
In a joint statement issued on Joe Baggs’ Instagram account, the family said: “After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show. We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.
“With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity.”
It concluded: “Thank you for all your support whilst we have been on the show and over on TikTok. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!”
Fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner – whose boyfriend is currently recovering after being involved in a horror hit and run in March – was one of the first to wish the family well among the sea of comments.
“All the best to you guys”, she wrote, followed by three red love heart emojis.
“Nooooooo!!!! One of my faves from the show,” a devastated fan wrote.
Others said: “No am gutted. Wish you all the best in the future for you all, love you all so much.”
“Good luck to all of you!!! My fave family ever!!”
