The Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur announces engagement to co-star Akshay Thakrar

Winner of The Apprentice 2022 Harpreet Kaur has revealed she's now engaged to series co-star Akshay Thakrar.

The pair, who met whilst competing against each other in the 2022 BBC series to win a £250k investment from Lord Alan Sugar, announced their happy news to Instagram with a sweet caption and a snap of the moment that Akshay popped the question.

The pair's romance didn't start until the series ended, beginning with a friendship which Harpreet has described as "blossoming" into something more. Now the loved up couple have taken their relationship to the next level with their engagement.

Writing on his Instagram, Akshay announced the news for the couple as he told followers: "I would find you in any lifetime.

"Our journey began in the most unexpected way. Now it’s time to begin our forever chapter. She said yes."

He concluded: "Thank you to everyone who helped me create this special moment @the_proposalplanners @londondiamonddealer @shivaniphotography."

The charming caption accompanied a snap of Akshay down on one knee to a shocked Harpreet in front of a sign saying 'Will you marry me?' with the London skyline providing the perfect backdrop for the business pair.

The scene was surrounded by red rose petals, candles and sparklers to celebrate the engagement.

Followers have rushed to wish the pair congratulations on their happy news, including fellow finalist from the 2022 series Kathryn Burn. She wrote: "MY BEST FRIEND IS GETTING MARRIED AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH. A match made in heaven. love u both."

She also added in another comment: "LET’S START PLANNING THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY."

Other co-stars joined in on the congratulatory messages including Akeem Bundu-Kamara, who commented: "Madness. Congratulations you guys."

Fellow contestant Brittany Carter added: "I AM LITERALLY IN TEARS. I am so happy for you both this is just the best thing to ever happen. CONGRATULATIONS."

It wasn't just co-stars as followers also shared their best wishes to the happy couple. One follower wrote: "Omg huge congrats!!!!!!! So happy for you."

"Amazing news!!! Congratulations guys xxxxx," said another.

Another wrote: "A huge congratulations to you both!!! We hope this next chapter is the beautifulest one yet."

Harpreet, who won the £250k investment for her dessert business So Yum!, announced her relationship with digital marketing agency owner Akshay with an Instagram post last year.

Sharing a snap of her cosied up to her beau, she told her followers: "The best things in life happen unexpectedly. I love sharing my Oh So Yum business journey with you all but this time….it’s a personal one.

"Since coming out of the Apprentice house, my life has been a complete whirlwind in more ways than one.

"Over the past three months, a special someone has swept me unexpectedly off my feet & I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us."

In return Akshay added: "So happy you’re mine. Excited for whats to come!"
