The Apprentice final four revealed as Lord Sugar sensationally fires Akeem with Aaron

Akeem Bundu-Kamara was fired from The Apprentice despite not being on a losing team, as Lord Sugar took the decision to give him the boot before the interview stage.

In previous years there have been five candidates who have made it through to the interviews where their business plans and CV's are scrutinised to the nth degree but this time, Lord Sugar decided that he only wanted four to get through.

Aaron Willis also found himself facing the finger after he leading his team to getting no orders in a task in which the teams had to develop a new baby food.

His 'Moroccan Medley' fell foul with the retailers and the last two boys were told to leave the process.

Akeem was a little peeved with his firing after the show, saying that he was "extremely gutted" by Lord Sugar's decision.

He said: " Feeling extremely gutted as you can imagine! To technically make the final five, but not to make it to the interview stage, well, it’s unfortunate but I feel like I've done well. Two wins as PM so, I’ve definitely got things to be proud of and now it’s all about advancing with my business."

He added that he felt the girls had the right set of skills to get through the process: " All the girls were very confident, they had very applicable skillsets to the tasks; marketing, event management and others, which I think really helped."

Akeem, who specialises in the financial sector, believed that he had made a big contribution to this series.

He admits: " I thought my contribution was quite integral for the win in a lot of tasks. I’d also been PM in two tasks, and won those, avoiding the boardroom in both those situations.

"I also felt that the chemistry in our team was very interesting – we were all very different and contributed to winning in different ways. The times we did lose, such as Wales, I showed that I was willing to step up and take responsibility."

He then hit out at Lord Sugar's decision, saying that he felt his firing was unjustified.

Akeem moaned: "I feel like my business, and the way I approach business, is very different to others and is why I would have been a perfect business partner for Lord Sugar.

"But, at the end of the day, he made the decision not to invest in me and my business and that’s his prerogative.

"I would rather have a strong yes off somebody who wants it, rather than a half-hearted yes."

Aaron meanwhile felt that he had probably come to the end of the road on The Apprentice, after he was fired due to his performance in the task.

Speaking after being shown the door Lord Sugar, Aaron said: "Do you know what, I’m actually quite at peace with it because I do think it was my time [to go]. It was one of those moments where I felt I’d peaked and I’d rather have been fired for something which was justified, so I’ve got no complaints!

"At the end of the day, I messed it up, so I can’t really argue with that!"

Aaron believes that the billionaire entrepreneur had seen something in him to have kept him in the process for so long.

He said: "I just think Lord Sugar could see that I had a bit of fight in me. When I was in the bottom three, I think the points which I put across were just constructive and honest.

"I tried to avoid calling fault with others as much as I could and just be answerable for my own mistakes and be humble in taking credit when something had gone right.

"I think he’s just a good judge of character and can see through any waffle, but I was true to myself and authentic – let’s be honest, he could have easily fired me back in Wiffy the Wizard days!

"If he was going to fire me before now, that would have been the perfect opportunity!"

The final four will be an all-female affair and their plans for Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment will be given the most stringent scrutiny before the last two battle for his money.

Stephanie Affleck, Brittany Carter, Kathryn Louise and Harpreet Kaur all hope they have the idea which will spark a "you're hired".
