The Ange Postecoglou Tottenham ruthless streak taking training by storm as boss gets tough on time wasters

Ruthless Ange Postecoglou continues to make his mark at Tottenham and the Aussie's cultural fingerprints are all over the first week of training.

The changing culture at Celtic was clear to see when the former Socceroos boss arrived in the summer of 2021 with a now-infamous video of him barking instructions of 'We never stop' at Lennoxtown setting the tone for his trophy-laden spell in Glasgow. Postecoglou left with a domestic Treble in his wake before the lure of Spurs and the Premier League proved too much to turn down. And the unwavering 57-year-old ensured his mantra of attacking, all guns blazing football would not change as the high-profile stars of Spurs get ready for a thrill ride.

The ex-Celtic coach was known for his personal distance with players in order to build that winning culture, something Matt O'Riley had surmised to have changed since the return of Brendan Rodgers, a more hands-on coach. And it appears the same is happening in England's capital with the Evening Standard reporting that the landscape has already majorly changed at the Hotspur Way.

The report states that Postecoglou is currently residing in a lodge at the training facility as he moves to sort out accommodation for his family. He is said to arrive early and have brought an 'affable, professional and single-minded' approach to his staff, who he has learned the names of all involved, something that is being said to have been a 'surprise'.

The Aussie is said to have knocked back 'quirky content' ideas from the social media team, but he did engage in a fan Q&A much to the delight of Spurs fans. He's punctual and will give 'short shrift' to any player or staff who miss the allotted times for training and check-in, which all begin with a handshake for each player involved. The Ashes have been on the screens in the London facility but the Standard say not many have been to engage with Ange about it given his love for the Aussies.

But the boisterous 'we never stop' chants seem to have quietened down with Postecolgou said to be observing from the sidelines as drills are conducted by his staff which include former Socceroo star Mile Jedinak. The Standard say, however, that the mood in the camp is significantly more improved from the final days of Antonio Conte's reign.

The Italian infamously banned condiments such as ketchup and mayonnaise from the canteen in London, with players said to be eating plain chicken, pasta and salmon for 'long periods'. But Postecoglou has already implemented what is being described as a more varied selection as he hopes to feast on the Premier League when he takes his side to Brentford on August 13.
