The Alchemist in Leeds to celebrate their 10th birthday

The Alchemist in Trinity Shopping Centre is hosting birthday celebrations this week as the venue turns 10.

From bubbling drinks to colour changing cocktails, the bar has been hugely popular since opening in 2013. It was one of the first businesses to open in the shopping centre, and has become a hotspot for one of the best views of Leeds; it has an impressive rooftop terrace.

Combining the drama of theatre with the fine art of molecular mixology and the joy of immersive and unexpected creations, the cocktail bar has continuously been busy. Fast forward 10 years, The Alchemist has expanded to 20 venues across major cities in the UK with their first international bar opening in Berlin this May and is considered the gold standard within the industry.

There is also a Leeds venue in popular hospitality area, Greek Street. There are now venues in Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, and London.

As part of their celebrations, the Butter Beer, inspired by the iconic Harry Potter tipple, will make a return – a rich creation which blends Sailor Jerry’s Rum, salted vanilla syrup, Licor 43, salted caramel liqueur, soda and beer. Also back is the zingy Key Lime Pie, which mixes up Bacardi Carta Blanca, Midori, Koko Kanu, apple, lime, biscuits, and toasted meringue foam, creating a refreshing take on the classic dessert.

Fans of The Alchemist’s signature Smoky Old Fashioned may gravitate towards the Maple Manhattan, which fuses Buffalo Trace Bourbon with Martini Rubino, Jerry Thomas Bitters and maple foam to create a dark and sophisticated drink aimed at the more discerning cocktail aficionado.
