Keanu Reeves has spent a career’s worth in Hollywood thrilling audiences with some of the best action movies of anyone’s generation.
From battling machines in The Matrix to saving passengers aboard a runaway bus in Speed, Reeves is one of the most trusted movie stars around when it comes to action-packed cinema.
His latest film, John Wick: Chapter 4, is now playing in theaters nationwide.
The next installment in the assassin-filled action saga has debuted to stellar reviews as Reeves now gets another chance to implement his signature brand of Wick-y justice on those who try to defeat him.
If you need to catch up on the series, the first three John Wick movies are available to stream on Peacock.
As you get into the John Wick spirit, what are some other Keanu Reeves films that you can check out on streaming?
The Matrix
One of the greatest sci-fi/action films of all time will always be The Matrix, the game-changing 1999 masterpiece that sparked a new era in visual effects-driven storytelling.
Reeves’ Neo (a.k.a. “The One”), donned in sunglasses and a sleek outfit, is an iconic movie hero, fighting whatever the evil machines have to throw at him in style.
All four of The Matrix films are available for streaming if you want to join the rest of humanity and fight for freedom from the simulation.
If you’ve only got time for one, just watch the original. It’s still the best.
These films are available to stream on HBO Max.
Something's Gotta Give
Nancy Meyers’ 2002 romantic comedy Something’s Gotta Give featured Reeves as an intellectual doctor who lands in a romantic triangle with Oscar winners Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson.
It’s fun to see Reeves embrace a funnier side of his personality, as he’s never been afraid to step outside of the action genre to take on adventurous projects.
Something’s Gotta Give is a very different movie from John Wick, but it’s still a delightful rom-com from Meyers, a master of the genre.
This films is available to stream on Hulu.
Bill & Ted Face the Music
If you missed the radical third Bill & Ted film when it released during the pandemic, it’s still out there if you need some nostalgic vibes.
Bill & Ted Face the Music was a hilarious, heartfelt return to San Dimas, California, with our favorite Wyld Stallyns. It resisted some of the more obvious pitfalls of over legacy sequels while still staying true to the essence that made it such a beloved pair of films in the late ’80s and early ’90s.
This film is available to stream on Amazon Prime’s Freevee.
Toy Story 4
The fourth Toy Story film might be a surprising fit on this list, but Reeves turned in a hilarious voice performance as Duke Caboom, a Canadian daredevil toy that Woody and the crew meet in the movie.
Reeves got to honor his Canadian roots by playing the stuntman toy, and he got plenty of laughs in the Pixar movie.
This film is available to stream on Disney+.
Speed
Okay, we’re cheating with this one, because Speed is only available for rental on platforms like YouTube, Apple, Vudu and Amazon.
Although, c’mon, it’s Speed. The action film following a group of people trapped on a bus that can’t slow down (or it will explode) is one of the best examples of simple thrills you can think of.
Reeves plays a dedicated police officer who helps try to save the passengers aboard this runaway bus. Sandra Bullock and Dennis Hopper co-star.
The film is available for rental. Trust us; it’s worth a couple of bucks.
