Let me first acknowledge that spending £300 on a water bottle should be unfathomable. And yet. I find myself mulling it over.
Hydrogen water is becoming the next frontier in longevity. The evidence is slowly stacking up (though more larger-scale studies are needed) and shows hydrogen to be a powerful antioxidative with anti-inflammatory properties, meaning it can help with all manner of things, from reducing the risk of certain diseases to improving mental health and aiding sleep.
The flask looks slick, with its customisable LED screen and chunky glass design. It’s straightforward to use: simply fill it up with water, press play on the touchscreen and watch the bubbles as 8 PPM of molecular hydrogen is pumped in. It takes 10 minutes.
The water tastes no different and yet I found myself drinking more than usual. As with most things these days, it comes with an app so drinkers can track how much they’re glugging and set hydration goals.

No one needs another device to charge, but this lasts for roughly three days so isn’t burdensome.
So, did I feel better? Obviously I can’t vouch for whether it’s made me less prone to disease, but I slept well, was significantly more hydrated and possibly calmer. If you’ve money to burn and are serious about your health, the Echo Flask could be a good place to start.
