Why don’t automakers drop the gimmicks and simply build a normal-looking EV? It’s a question that's haunted me since mainstream industry players went chasing after Tesla nearly a decade ago, stamping out imitator after imitator, draping their low-drag capsules in the least-imaginative bodywork you could ever design.
