The pub is a beloved British institution, with the act of downing a few cold ones firmly embedded into our culture. But if you fancy being on the other side of the bar for a change, then you’re in luck, because a pub company has hundreds of pubs available to lease or run.
Stonegate currently has more than 400 pubs listed as available under a tenancy agreement across the UK, including 20 in Greater Manchester. The company – which is owned by private equity firm TDR Capital – says it is the largest pub company in the UK, with a portfolio of more than 4,500 bars, pubs and nightclubs.
It is the name behind some well-known brands including Be at One, Walkabout and Slug and Lettuce. Stonegate is looking for some new publicans to join its team and take over many of its pub, giving a select lucky few the chance to actually live in the pub.
