The 12 Liverpool players on international duty including Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and others

Liverpool will have as many as 12 players away with their respective countries during the international break.

The Reds go into the season’s hiatus in sixth place in the Premier League table, and face a battle to achieve a top four finish. Liverpool were not in action at the weekend due to their match with Fulham being postponed as they were facing Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now not in action until April 1 when they face an away trip to Manchester City. Until then, a dozen of their players will be jetting across the globe on international duty.

One player who won’t be competing for their country is Darwin Nunez. The striker was withdrawn from the Uruguay squad following an ankle injury, which he suffered in Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

Club captain Jordan Henderson is included in the England squad for the break. He will hope to be involved in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy (March 23) and Ukraine (March 26).

Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo have been called up to the Netherlands squad for their respective matches this month. They take on France on March 24 and Gibraltar on March 27 in Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Ibrahima Konate is included in the France squad for their Euro 2024 qualifying matches against the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland. While Caoimhin Kelleher is in the Ireland squad that will take on France, as well as a friendly against Latvia.

Andy Robertson will look to captain Scotland in their Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Cyprus (March 25) and Spain (March 28). While Diogo Jota will be part of the Portugal squad that takes on Liechtenstein (March 23) and Luxembourg (March 26)

Kostas Tsimikas is also in the Greece squad that will face Gibraltar and Lithuania in their Euro 2024 qualifiers. While Mohamed Salah is with the Egypt squad to face a double header against Malawi as part of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on March 24 and March 28.

Plus, Naby Keita is with the Guinea squad for their AFCON qualifying double header against Ethiopia. These matches take place on March 24 and March 27.

In terms of youth level, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones have both been called up to the England Under-21 squad. They will hope to be involved in the friendly fixtures against France (March 25) and Croatia (March 28).
