Top 10 grossing concert tours of all time as Taylor Swift's Eras finishes in Vancouver

Taylor Swift has brought the curtain down on her record-breaking Eras tour, calling it “the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date”.

The singer performed at BC Place in Vancouver on Sunday, the last of her 149 shows that have taken place globally since 2023.

The Eras tour, which saw fans treated to a retrospective of her hits alongside new songs from 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, took in eight nights at Wembley Stadium.

“I decided to make this tour the longest tour I’ve ever done because you have made this feel like so much more than a concert tour,” Swift said to the Vancouver audience.

“The lasting legacy of this tour is that you have created such a space of joy and togetherness and love, and I couldn’t be more proud of you,” she added.

The Eras Tour is now at an end, just in time for Swift to celebrate her 35th birthday.

But how does it compare to other tours in terms of gross?

The top 10 highest grossing tours

Here are the top 10 according to Wikipedia – and this metric is not adjusted for inflation.

10. Beyoncé – The Renaissance World Tour (2023) $579,879,268 (£454m)

Don’t be fooled by Beyoncé’s apparently lowly position – she still banked her fortune from this tour after just 56 shows, by far the lowest number on this list.

9. Guns N' Roses – Not in This Lifetime... Tour (2016-2019) $584,200,000 (£457.4m)

The LA rock band might be getting on in years but they are not slowing down, playing 158 shows over a four-year period.

8. Ed Sheeran – +–=÷× Tour(2022-2025) $584,551,454 (£457.7m)

A world tour to bring together all of his numerical albums, Sheeran has earned his place in the top 10 the hard way, playing 103 shows and counting.

7. Pink – Summer Carnival (2023-2024) $584,700,000 (£457.8m)

Slightly ahead of Sheeran for now is Pink, who took a healthy half-a-billion at the worldwide box office for her Summer Carnival tour – which took in 97 shows.

6. Harry Styles – Love on Tour (2021-2023) $617,325,000 (£483m)

This year, Swift stormed Wembley but two years ago it was the turn of Harry Styles. His London shows were among the 169 he played to promote Harry’s House.

5. U2 – 360° Tour (2009-2011) $736,421,586 (£576m)

A long time number one, U2 are now fifth on this list thanks to their stadium tour which took in 110 dates on the back of their 2008 LP No Line on the Horizon.

4. Ed Sheeran – Divide World Tour (2017-2019) $776,200,000 (£607m)

The ginger-haired singer-songwriter is the only person on this list to feature twice thanks to his 255 shows over three years,

3. Elton John – Farewell Yellow Brick Road (2018-2023) $939,100,000 (£735m)

So many people wanted to see the Rocket Man that he was able to sell out 330 shows, the highest number on this list.

2. Coldplay – Music of the Spheres World Tour (2022-2025) $1,144,590,969 (£895.6m)

The indie-pop (and increasingly the latter genre) band have a record number of Wembley appearances and will add to that tally next summer.

1. Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour (2023-2024) $2,077,618,725 (£1.7bn)

And congratulations to Swift on her latest number one… The Eras tour is the runaway winner.
