Among the best western movies of all time there is more variety than you might think. Of course, when we think of a western, we think of the vast and dusty landscapes of the Wild West, where manly cowboys face each other in tense standoffs while the town's sheriff seeks justice in a lawless land. And that is true, but this genre has evolved and reinvented itself more times that we can count.
Westerns are still all about revenge, justice, and the struggle for survival, but, as we see in this list, they can cross with other genres like sci-fi and comedy, and can even be set in the present day.
