'Thanks for your patience' — Spotify is back online after a major outage that impacted thousands of users

Everybody was in a panic as Spotify experienced issues, with thousands of reports that the app was not working earlier today, May 12, 2026.

The music streaming service first confirmed that it was "aware of some issues right now with the app and are checking them out!", but there's no word yet on how widespread the problem was or an estimated time to fix.
