River City Bangkok on Charoen Krung Road will be transformed into a bouquet of art showcasing nearly 200 works from tomorrow to Feb 24. All works will later go under the hammer during the "Follow Your Heart" art auction on Feb 25 at 2pm.

Held to celebrate the season of love by The Art Auction Center (TAAC), one of Thailand's leading art auction companies, the exhibition gathers selected works by renowned artists of wide-ranging ages.

The artworks are divided into eight categories representing forms of affection based on the beliefs in Greek mythology -- Eros, Philia, Ludus, Agape, Pragma, Philautia, Storge and Mania.

Highlights include an enormous painting by Princess Marsi Sukhumbhand Paribatra, a rare art piece by Thawan Duchanee, a painting by Prof Silpa Bhirasri, and a watercolour painting portraying a pink rose by Chakrabhand Posayakrit.

Among participating artists widely known in the current era are Suntur, Alex Face, Muebon, Pex, Mamuang Chan and Gongkan. Also featured are emerging artists whose works touch on the floral theme. These are in addition to the many other floral art pieces in myriad styles.

According to TAAC director Piriya Vachajitpan, most of the art pieces are from private collections held by many collectors, and so we might not have a chance to see them again any time soon.

The exhibition is open for public viewing daily from 11am to 7pm at RCB Galleria 1, 2nd floor. The upcoming auction is also at River City Bangkok.
