BENGALURU — Singapore-listed Thai Beverage (ThaiBev) posted a 7.2% rise in nine-month operating earnings on Thursday, helped by growth across all businesses on the back of effective brand investment and marketing activities.
The company, which brews the popular Chang beer and Sangsom rum, reported earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of 48.29 billion baht (US$1.46 billion) for the nine months ended June 30, up from 45.03 billion baht a year earlier.
ThaiBev, Southeast Asia's largest beverage group, has been listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) since 2006 and remains one of the most valuable consumer stocks in the city-state.
According to reports last month, ThaiBev is considering selling its Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant franchise business in Thailand. The company is working with Bank of America Corp to assess interest from potential buyers, according to people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity because the information is confidential.
