Texas Woman Arrested In DC For Threats Against Trump

Donald Trump looks focused.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, has reported the arrest of a Texas woman who traveled to the capital city under suspicion of making threats against former President Donald Trump and carrying a gun without a license. The arrest was made following a tip-off from the US Secret Service on Friday afternoon.

Authorities located the woman, identified as 41-year-old Christina Montoya from San Antonio, Texas, and her Honda Accord in a residential area in northeastern DC. Montoya has been charged with carrying a pistol without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm, and making threats against a former president. She remains in custody as of Friday night.

The police report revealed that the alleged threats against Trump began on July 20, although specific details were not disclosed by law enforcement officials. Upon apprehension, officers recovered a silver Smith and Wesson M&P Shield pistol, a magazine, and a gun lock from Montoya's possession.

This incident comes amidst heightened concerns over political violence, particularly following an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions and security risks associated with public figures and political events.
