Texas Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found Dead

French police

A Texas man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a deceased woman in his apartment. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Omar Lucio, was arrested on April 15 in connection with the death of 27-year-old Corinna Johnson.

The incident came to light after a 911 call was made to the Garland Police Department, reporting a woman had been beaten to death and was located inside an apartment on W. Wheatland Road. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Lucio inside the apartment, where he initially refused to cooperate but was eventually taken into custody.

Authorities followed a trail of blood from the front door to a bedroom closet, where they discovered Johnson's body wrapped in bedding. Further investigation led to the recovery of bloody clothes in Lucio's vehicle parked nearby.

According to witness accounts, Lucio had contacted a woman for help after an altercation with Johnson, claiming that he had 'snapped' and physically assaulted her. The caller described finding Johnson unresponsive with visible injuries, prompting her to report the incident to the police.

Family members of the victim expressed shock and grief over the tragic loss, highlighting concerns about Johnson's well-being in her relationship with Lucio. Described as a vibrant and cheerful individual, Johnson's loved ones emphasized that she did not deserve such a fate.

Lucio, who remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail, faces charges of murder, street racing, and involvement in a collision causing bodily injury. The case continues to unfold as authorities work to piece together the events leading to Johnson's untimely death.
