A Texas man was arrested after police say he purposefully crashed his SUV into a grocery store entrance — all because he needed to use the restroom.
The unidentified 60-year-old man crashed his car through a Kroger grocery store just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday in Rosenberg, a suburb about 35 miles southwest of Houston, the Rosenberg Police Department said.
The driver allegedly plowed through the grocery store’s pharmacy entrance because he was upset the business was closed, police said.
Police said the incident caused “extensive damage to the pharmacy entrance.”
“Further investigation revealed the driver needed to use the restroom and was upset the doors were locked,” police said.
Photos show shattered glass inside and outside the building from the two automatic doors the car plowed through to get inside. The metal door frame was also bent out of shape from the crash.
The car was stopped just inside the store, parked next to a Halloween candy display.
“I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go but we strongly advise finding a store open for business … to do your business,” police wrote on Facebook.
Social media users also poked fun at the incident.
“Pokemon machine is marked safe,” one Facebook user commented. Another chimed in, “Until they find out the restrooms are at the other entrance.”
“There’s literally a 24hr 7-Eleven right around the corner from there,” another user noted.
Authorities told FOX 26 that the suspect was a 60-year-old man and that he had been arrested on criminal mischief charges.
