Texas and South Dakota unite to defend against border invasion

Texas and South Dakota leaders unite against border crisis.

In a recent interview, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxson and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem expressed their support for the measures taken by Texas to address the ongoing border crisis. They emphasized the need for unity among all governors, irrespective of party affiliation, to address the massive problem at hand.

Governor Noem commended Texas for taking proactive steps to defend itself, stating that her state has already deployed its National Guard three times in support of Texas over the past few years. She reiterated her commitment to standing alongside Texas and continuing to assist in any way necessary. In addition, she highlighted the importance of upholding the Constitution and ensuring the protection of states' rights.

Regarding the recent Supreme Court decision, Governor Noem pointed out that it did not prevent Texas from defending itself. While the court ruled against the use of razor wire, it did not restrict Texas from taking action to safeguard its borders. She emphasized that the power of the Constitution lies with the states, and any attempts to prevent the Texas National Guard from engaging would require activating them under Title 10.

Governor Noem raised concerns about the negative impacts of President Joe Biden's policies, stating that they are not supported by the public, border patrol agents, or immigration and customs enforcement personnel on the ground. She described the situation at the border as an 'invasion' and suggested that it requires a robust defense of state rights.

Turning to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxson, he echoed Governor Noem's sentiments and emphasized the urgency of the situation. He argued that the number of illegal border crossings has exceeded six million, branding it an 'inhumane' and 'war zone' scenario. Paxson firmly asserted that the responsibility to protect their states lies with the governors, and they must act accordingly.

The discussion also mentioned the concerns raised by ten former FBI executives regarding the current situation at the border. These executives, who held various leadership positions within the FBI, stated that the United States is facing a unique and unprecedented invasion by military-aged foreigners.

It remains to be seen how President Biden will respond to the actions taken by Texas and the support from other states like South Dakota. As the border crisis continues, maintaining unity among governors and upholding the Constitution will undoubtedly be crucial in addressing the ongoing challenges at the southern border.
