Developer Digital Eclipse confirmed all of the games that will be included in the Tetris Forever collection.
The lineup will feature a variety of titles that will be making their way outside of Japan for the very first time. Players will be able to explore four decades of Tetris history with the package. It will reportedly include several classic games.
Tetris Forever Collection
You can relive the origins from 1984 by playing a faithful recreation of the very first Tetris game that came out on the Electronika 60 computer. You can also face off against other players in the multiplayer favorite Tetris Battle Gaiden.
The upcoming Tetris Forever collection will also have Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss that lets you unleash massive explosions to clear lines of blocks.
Furthermore, the games package will feature single and multiplayer titles that have versions from the Apple II, Nintendo Entertainment System (NEW), Game Boy, and other platforms, according to Gematsu.
The upcoming Tetris Forever collection will also feature one brand-new game, Tetris Time Warp, that was developed by the studio. This title is a new take on the classic that lets players "warp" through different areas of Tetris.
This allows you to experience a dynamic mix of graphics, playstyles, and mechanics in real time. It was said that additional titles may be added on or after the collection's official release date.
The release of the collection marks the third entry in Digital Eclipse's "Gold Master Series" of games.
It aims to provide full access to classic titles alongside historical documentation around their conception and development. The first two were The Making of Karateka and Llamasoft: The Jeff Minster Story, Nintendo Life said.
Inclusion of Classic Titles
The Tetris Forever collection was first announced in August 2024 and is unlike releases such as Atari 50. The upcoming games package features an "interactive timeline" that lets you play through each game in order of release while offering historical context.
The collection also illuminates how the iconic block-dropping franchise evolved over the last four decades. So far, it sounds like the package will be a perfect pick-up for a lot of Tetris fans who also marvel at the classic titles.
Digital Eclipse has not yet revealed an official release date for the Tetris Forever collection. However, it is planned to be released on various platforms. These include PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, according to Kotaku.
Another game that is included in the collection is Hatris. This title was originally released by Bullet-Proof Software in. This particular title was initially available on the Game Boy.
