Pre-season is nearly upon us and the new campaign feels just around the corner, but it’s not just the Premier League that fans are looking forward to.
In just a matter of weeks, that Champions League anthem will be blasting on the speakers at St. James’ Park, and it’s sure to invoke some memories of the great European campaigns of years gone by.
That anthem has already settled nicely into Newcastle folklore since that stalemate against Leicester City in May, with fans lapping up the iconic music any chance they get. “Good for them,” the tune’s composer Tony Britten told ChronicleLive. “Newcastle have had a fairly torrid time of it over the last few years.”
