  • Tesla has unveiled a new two-seater Roadster prototype at SpaceX's test site in Texas, incorporating compressed-air rocket thrusters and suction fans.
  • During a live demonstration, the electric sports car achieved 0 to 60mph acceleration in 0.81 seconds and performed airborne flipping manoeuvres.
  • Elon Musk claimed the production version will be even faster, with a planned top speed exceeding 230mph and cornering forces greater than 2g.
