Tesla has stopped calling its driver-assistance system "Full Self-Driving" on European sales websites. The feature now shows up as "Tesla Assisted Driving" after Germany's transport ministry said the old name oversold what the car can actually do.
The switch follows weeks of back-and-forth between Tesla and German regulators. The regulators back wider European approval for the system but wanted the branding fixed and operating limits tightened first. German officials say the European version has been modified to meet EU rules instead of matching the earlier software exactly.
