Tesla Got Its Model Y L Range Wrong, EPA Gives It More Miles

  • Tesla's configurator estimated 325 miles for the Model Y L Premium AWD.
  • The EPA certified the Model Y L Premium AWD at 332 miles.
  • The Model Y L loses only 4 miles of EPA-rated range when moving from 19-inch to 20-inch wheels.

Tesla's own configurator called it 325 miles. The EPA just said otherwise. The federal agency has certified the Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive at figures that beat Tesla's initial estimate, and by a margin big enough to matter for anyone cross-shopping the automaker's six-seat SUV.
