A new Lidl supermarket will be built alongside 62 homes on the site of a former plastics factory in Bestwood. Nottingham City Council’s planning committee gave the scheme the green light and it will soon be built on the site of the former Chronos Richardson plastics factory off Belconnen Road near Nottingham City Hospital.
During the meeting on Wednesday, December 21, councillors also approved 62 new homes by housing developer MyPad, which is behind a number of significant projects across the county. “The store would have a gross internal area of 1,895 [square meters],” planning documents say.
“The car park would provide 100 standard spaces, four disabled, nine parent and child and four with electric vehicle charging points.”
