Tesco shopper 'shaken' after finding chemical used on fruit and veg makes it unsuitable for vegans

A Tesco shopper was left 'shaken' after finding out some of Tesco's fruit and vegetables aren't suitable for vegans or vegetarians. The shocked fruit buyer wanted to buy oranges, mandarins and satsumas, but, to her surprise, they were labelled as non-vegan both on the label and online.

She tweeted, saying: “I am shocked to find out that the oranges I was trying to buy all day are not vegan. Pfft.” The woman tried Tesco for the oranges and noted that on their website ‘Tesco Finest Emperor Oranges 4 Pack’ are labelled as non-vegan items.

Non-vegan fruits were also being sold in Marks and Spencer and Morrisons, MyLondon reports. The actual fruit was of course vegan as they are plants and vegans eat a plant-based diet.
