Tesco set to cut out traditional feature due to 'lack of customer demand'

Tesco is set to phase out a staple feature of its stores after 'lack of customer demand'.

The supermarket giant appears to be moving away from manned checkout tills with more of an emphasis on self-checkout. Larger self-service checkout tills have been installed in some stores which allows six bags can be packed at once and more space of the trolley.

The larger self-checkout tills are three times longer than the average and Tesco has said they have been successful with the customers.
