Tesco and Waitrose urgently recall food products due to salmonella

Tesco and Waitrose have issued urgent recalls of products over fears that they may be contaminated with salmonella.

Certain batches of the former's Hog Roast Style Pork with Apple Sauce and the latter's Green Pesto with Basil have been found to potentially contain the bacteria.

Customers who purchased either of these products with one of the use by dates in question are advised to return them immediately for a full refund.

It follows the news earlier this week that infant formula powders and pork snack products were also recalled over possible salmonella contamination.

Symptoms caused by salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.
