Tesco and Asda shoppers hit with £500 warning

Tesco and Asda customers are being warned about a scheme where free vouchers are being offered for the supermarkets.

Which? warns that "chasing these vouchers could cost you time and money, and you probably won’t get anything in return". The consumer champion website said a company called Rewards Giant promises the vouchers in return for sharing and commenting on Facebook posts or clicking on links in an email.

While this all sounds easy enough, you'll actually need to sign up to a series of game and subscription downloads to qualify, costing you time and, potentially, money. Which? said even if a person does all this there's no guarantee of ever receiving the voucher.

Rewards Giant claims to offer vouchers and gift cards for a series of brands, including Tesco, Asda, Coca Cola, Iceland, Toby Carvery, Uber Eats, and the online game platform Roblox.

Social media posts are offering vouchers worth £500 for the above retailers. Tesco has confirmed that it was not affiliated with the page and reported it to Facebook.

Similarly, Asda, Roblox, Toby Carvery, Iceland, UberEats and Coca Cola all confirmed to Which? that they are not affiliated with Rewards Giant. Which? attempted to contact Rewards Giant several times, but received no response.

Rewards Giant has an average rating of 2.2 out of 5 on the review website Trustpilot, and many reviews include the word "scam".
