Terry's Chocolate Orange fans feel 'cheated' after discovering what the plastic inside box is for

Terry's Chocolate Orange fans have taken to social media to express how 'cheated' they feel by a revelation around the plastic inside the containers.

The spherical citrusy treat is especially popular around Christmas time, and is a staple in most households, reports Lancaster Live. However, not everyone is aware that the packaging on the chocolate actually has a use.

If there's one lying around your home - which is unlikely - then you might want to give this hack a go. TikTok user @michael_adams1138 shared this discovery with his 2,600 followers, and has raked in 338,000 views since doing so.

The video shows the creator demonstrating the Terry's trick first-hand. Neil captioned the post: "Chocolate orange display."

The footage shows him opening the packaging of the chocolate and pulling out the bit of plastic that we all usually discard. However, by pulling this small bit of plastic, you can put the chocolate on a small display, making it much easier to eat.

Demonstrating the chocolate orange hack, the TikTok user admitted: "I was today years old when I discovered this hack."

The comments have been filled with people shocked at the hack, as one even admitted they had been unaware of this for over 50 years.

One person noticed a problem: "Could've done with this before Christmas! it's gonna be 12 months before I eat another chocolate orange and what're the chances of me remembering?"

Another said: "Omg!! I'm hurt!"

And a third wrote: "Genius!"

Another said they'd felt 'cheated' by not knowing this for years.

A fifth said: "50 years on the planet and still learning."

The Terry's revelation has come after people learnt the real story behind the lion on the label of Lyle's Golden Syrup.

People said they felt 'physically sick' after realising the animal is in fact dead and surrounded by 'buzzing' insects.
