Fox NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw had the whole set in stitches on Sunday afternoon as he recounted one of his first endorsement deals as a player during the network’s Super Bowl pregame coverage.
The only problem was that Bradshaw couldn’t pronounce the name of the popular footwear company, Puma.
“I made $30,000 my first Super Bowl year, and I didn’t have enough money to fly my mom and dad down to get them a hotel room,” Bradshaw began. “So this shoe company came along called [Puma],” he said as he butchered the pronunciation.
Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson all properly pronounced the name for Bradshaw and started laughing. Bradshaw chuckled and didn’t miss a beat while continuing to tell his story.
“And they said we’ll give you $25,000 if you wear our Pu…Pu…?”
“Puma’s!” the rest of the crew shouted out as they laughed once again.
Menefee then said, “Obviously they didn’t give you enough because you can’t pronounce them,” as the cast once again roared in laughter.
Chalk it up to Terry being Terry.
