Terrifying ordeal inside South Coast bank ends with Taser arrest

A 38-year-old man has been arrested after a bank employee was allegedly threatened with a knife on the Far South Coast.

Matthew John Scott appeared before bail court on Saturday, October 10, charged with aggravated robbery and depriving a person of liberty, and hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.

At 3.10pm on Friday, October 9, South Coast Police District officers were called to the Commonwealth Bank on Carp Street in Bega after reports of a man armed with a knife.
