Two young women were forced to flee their hotel room after a "frightening" ordeal left them too scared to sleep.
Jessica Sims, 22, and Ellie-May Ramsay, 19 travelled from the Isle of Man to Liverpool 's Adelphi Hotel after reading reports that ghost hunters had experienced spirits "swearing at them" while staying there.
The pair who run their own Youtube channel decided to investigate for themselves and feature their findings on their latest episode.
But from the moment they checked in on January 9, they claimed the hotel "didn't feel right" and they kept "feeling people going through them", the LiverpoolEcho reports.
Jess told The ECHO : "We checked out the room and one of the first things we noticed is that it kept going from really warm to really cold.
"There were points where we would both just shiver and get goosebumps for no reason.
"There was also a gunshot going through the window from the inside, which was creepy."
The pair took their camera, a spirit box and an EMF reader to see if they could communicate with spirits as they took a walk around the hotel.
Jess claimed she kept seeing shadows as they walked around the hotel, Ellie said she didn't see anything but "felt people going right through her".
Jess said: "The only way I can describe it is there were these big and dark shadows I saw in front, at the side and behind me and when I did everything went cold."
Ellie continued: "I didn't see anything but I can say 100% that you would go from being freezing cold, to normal and to being boiling very quickly.
"It was also eerily quiet but the camera would be going mad."
The girls, who have been interested in ghost hunting for around three months, also complained of smelling "rotten meat" when they were walking around some of the corridors.
Jess told The ECHO : "I have looked it up since then and a smell of rotten meat is to do with poltergeists and demons, it was frightening. I couldn't stop thinking about the smell for days."
Ellie and Jess also said they were left petrified when they were near the elevators and "legged it" away from the area when they heard the lift move but never saw the doors open.
When they returned to their hotel room, number 179, they used the spirit box in an attempt to communicate with any paranormal beings and said they were left shocked when a male spirit replied saying "you b***h".
The pair who were too terrified to sleep made a quick getaway to an apartment in the city after deciding not to stay the night in the hotel.
Jess asked the spirits if they would like her to turn off the camera and another one replied saying "don't try".
At another point, the girls hear another voice saying "that's it, silly girls" over the spirit box.
Ellie said: "When we were in the room we could hear a girl and a boy's voice. The girl was really aggressive, especially when we went over the window and the boy seemed like he was just speaking to us because we were there.
"It was an amazing experience in The Adelphi, I wouldn't stay there again though unless I was forced to."
Jess added: "It was a good trip and we got exactly what we were looking for. We didn't actually stay there overnight and we did have an apartment we went back to.
"It was really scary and we struggled to sleep, so we slept well when we got back home.
"We want to come back to Liverpool again to go to the abandoned hospital."
