Taylor Fritz and his influencer girlfriend were victims of an attempted break in while on holiday in London.
Morgan Riddle shared pictures on Instagram of the AirBNB she was staying in with the US tennis player and said the break in attempt was at 4am on Saturday.
“At 4am this morning, Taylor and I wake [sic] up to someone trying to enter the code and break into the front door of the airbnb we're staying at in London,” she wrote.
She added that she told Fritz and ran to secure a secondary lock - but found the security device had been removed.
“Of all the potential weapons in the house, this man grabs a tennis racket,” she wrote of Fritz over a picture of him with a racket.
The next clip in her Instagram story shows Fritz trying to squish a mosquito with the racket.
The incident appears not to have ruined their stay in the capital as Riddle was sharing pictures of her brunch a few hours later on Saturday.
Riddle and Fritz have been dating since 2020 and their romance was shown in the Netflix documentary Break Point.
It is not the first time that the pair have come into trouble while staying overseas, with Riddle saying that she previously stayed in temporary accommodation and been the victim of burglaries.
It is understood that the would-be criminal did not gain entry to their flat.
Riddle added: “After we called 999, Taylor got distracted and tried to kill a mosquito.”
Fritz, 27, is currently the world number six and reached his first grand slam final at the US Open in September, losing to Jannik Sinner.
He was seen sporting new blonde hair in the video and has been out and about in London - sharing a picture of himself pressed into a packed Underground carriage.
