Tennis Icon Compares Carlos Alcaraz To Djokovic, Nadal & Federer

Andre Agassi claims 2024 Wimbledon champion, Carlos Alcaraz, the same qualities as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Andre Agassi Compares Carlos Alcaraz To Djokovic, Nadal & Federer

Agassi claimed that the World No. 3 possesses the same qualities as the trio of tennis icons but was adamant that it does not mean he will achieve the same level of success.

This is because ‘there are so many other parts to the game’ according to Agassi, but the Spaniard has been compared to the trio due to his success so far.

The 21-year-old tennis sensation has clinched four Grand Slam titles, including the US Open, French Open and Wimbledon x2

If he wins any of the next three Australian Open’s then he will become the youngest player to achieve this feat in history – breaking Rafael Nadal’s current record.

The Spaniard is one of the favourites to win the upcoming tournament in Australia on UK betting sites, alongside Djokovic and Jannik Sinner.

Agassi’s comments came in the TiE Global Summit 2024, as the tennis legend gave Alcaraz some of the highest praise possible.

He said: “I’m not a genius and I don’t have a crystal ball. What I can tell you is Alcaraz defends like Novak, has power and spin like, Nadal, and has hands and finesse like Federer.

“But just because he has the best of all three doesn’t mean he can do what they did because there are so many other parts to the game. Decision-making, injuries, luck… there are so many things.”

Djokovic currently holds the record for Grand Slam titles with 24, while Nadal (22) and Federer (20) take up second and third place.

The Spanish tennis star has spoke on breaking Djokovic’s record and how he aims to emulate the careers of the Serbian, Nadal and Federer.

Alcaraz said: “Obviously, I keep thinking about Nole’s 24 Grand Slams, that’s clear. I’m a very ambitious guy and I always want to think big, and I dream big — obviously Djokovic’s 24 is a goal at the end of my career.

“It is something that is inevitable to think about. I am very competitive and that is also what drives me to the highest level to try to be at the same level as the Big Three. The truth is that I dream big.”
