Tennessee has confirmed five more measles cases since late August, all in the state health department's East Tennessee region, raising the state's 2026 total to nine. The Tennessee Department of Health's latest measles report, dated September 11, shows the count more than doubled from four in its August 28 report, WSMV reported on the state's latest count.
None of the nine patients has required hospitalization, according to the state report. The department has not said which counties the new cases are in, and it has not said whether the five infections are linked to one another or to the outbreak in Kentucky.
