Ten people to appear in court over 'fuel theft' at Dublin petrol stations

Ten people have been charged in relation to fuel theft from service stations in north Dublin.

Gardai in Balbriggan conducted a major operation targeting people who were caught allegedly fleeing without paying for fuel from petrol stations. A total of 10 people are due to appear in court in connection with the investigation

They will appear before Balbriggan and Cloverhill Courts tomorrow, Thursday, February 16 after being charged contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud) Offences Act 2001 in connection with this investigation. A garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Balbriggan conducted an operation targeting recidivist offenders who steal fuel (drive-offs/making off without payment) from Service Stations.

"The targeted operation has been successful with 10 persons due to appear before Balbriggan and Cloverhill Court tomorrow, Thursday, February 16, 2023, charged contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud) Offences Act 2001 in connection with this investigation."
