Ayrshire drivers are getting set for 10 days of disruption as works on the A77 get underway this month.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking resurfacing on the A77 southbound on approximately 1.7km of carriageway, between the Meiklewood Interchange and the Grassyards Interchange, from Monday, July 17 until Thursday, July 27.
Amey say this scheme will benefit around 7,500 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using a combination of overnight closures and weekend contraflows. Signed diversions will be in operation.
Overnight road closures will be in place from Monday, July 17 until Friday July 21 from 8pm-6am each night, and from Monday, July 24 until Wednesday, July 27 from 8pm-6am each night.
A weekend contraflow will be in operation from 6am on Saturday, July 22 until 8pm on Sunday, July 23.
During the closures, all southbound traffic will exit at M77 Junction 8 Fenwick to the B7038 and follow a diversion to return to the A77 at Bellfield Interchange.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works
