Ten cats looking for new homes in Merseyside

There are many cats in Merseyside currently up for adoption.

Rescue charities across the region are looking for households willing to open their homes, and their hearts, to a feline friend. With many cats currently up for adoption, some are sadly, not being looked at twice.

From the RSPCA in Wirral, to Freshfields in Ince Blundell, many cats are looking for their forever homes. Some of these cats have not had a good start in life and are needing a quiet home, while others would thrive with the busy hustle and bustle of life.

READ MORE: Ten adorable dogs needing homes in Merseyside

Here, we have put together a list of 10 cats that are up for adoption in Merseyside, and where to find them. At Freshfields Animal Rescue, based at East Lane, there is:

Munchkin

Munchkin loves people (Freshfields Animal Rescue)

Munchkin is an extremely affectionate and good-natured cat aged 11, who lives for her food and loves being around people. She adores company and loves brushing herself against your legs.

With a sensitive tummy, Munchkin has an intestinal infection with Feline Coronavirus, not related to Covid 19 and causes Munchkin no problems. This is manageable with diet, and she lives a normal and happy life.

Shady and Steve

Steve is looking to be rehomed with Shady (Freshfields Animal Rescue)
Shady and Steve would like to stay together (Freshfields Animal Rescue)

Ideally rehomed together, these two are best friends. Shady is aged two and came to Freshfields with his bosom buddy Stevie after their previous owner became very ill. The whole move was a major shock for Shady and he would hide at first.

A loving patient owner would be ideal. Stevie, also two, is not the most confident of cats, so his new owner will need to be patient and gentle and help him to settle in at his own pace.

John Wick

John Wick has a boisterous personality (Freshfields Animal Rescue)

John Wick loves cuddles and affection as a seven months old cat. After he came to the rescue due to his owner having ill health, he will liven any home with his cheeky and mischievous nature.

Dave

Dave the Rave (Freshfields Animal Rescue)

Dave the Rave came into Freshfields after being found straying in St. Helens and no previous owners were found. Dave can be a bit boisterous and needs a good play session on a regular basis to keep him entertained and loving life.

Over at the RSPCA:

Arkle

Arkle, a domestic Longhair crossbreed (RSPCA)

Arkle has just been returned from his foster due to their resident cat not being very happy with him being around. He is looking for a pet-free home. Arkle is a gentle loving soul that wants a quiet life with people that will give him hugs and kisses.

Ivy

Ivy aged one (RSPCA)

One-year-old Ivy has a very confident and sassy personality and will let you know when she has had enough TLC. She is looking for a home with no other pets or children. She will need to gain your trust before you become her best friend.

Tigger and Blossom

Tigger and Blossom looking for a calmer home (RSPCA)

Tigger and Blossom where brought into care due to previous owner being allergic. These two, aged two, will make the most ideal pair for a family life as they look for a calmer household.

Boss

Boss was brought in as a stray (RSPCA)

Boss, aged nine, has not had the best start to life as a stray. He is not used to human contact just yet, so he is looking for a home with no other pets.
